Marlee Beth Matlin (innate August 24, 1965) is an American actress who is nigh entirely deaf.

Natural to the Jewish family in Morton Grove, Illinois, Matlin lost most of her hearing at the age of Xviii months, below the bout of Roseola infantum. She wasted completely hearing withinside her best ear, & 80% of hearing in her left ear.

She manufactured her stage debut at the age of septenary, when Dorothy within a youngsters's theatre version of The Wizard of Oz, and continued to come out by having a equivalent tykes's theatre class action throughout her childhood.
